Description

Artist Statement:

The architecturally striking milkweed plant is essential for the survival of the endangered Monarch butterfly, the only plant its caterpillars feed on. The eastern migratory Monarch population is currently at the second-lowest ever observed. Widespread use of herbicides has greatly reduced breeding and nectaring habitat that is crucial to maintain the long-term health of these pollinators. My nature studies pay homage to the pollinating insects I see in my garden and in the fields around my studio.
